Introducing The Hackathon
Linum Labs is running a large scale Blockchain Hackathon in Cape Town in association with the African Institute of Financial Markets and Risk Management (AIFMRM) and UCT, lead by Senior Lecturer, Dr Co-Pierre Georg, in January 2018. The hackathon will be hosted at Rise, a FinTech innovation hub created by Barclays.
This 10-day Hackathon is comprised of a 5 day all-inclusive and intensive Blockchain and FinTech Bootcamp, a weekend of networking and socializing, 72 hours of Hackathon and a full day blockchain symposium event. On completion of the Hackathon, there is an awards dinner to name the competition winners.
All accepted applicants will have their living expenses, local flights and accommodation paid for, for the duration of the event as well as a chance to win up to R100,000 in prize money for the winning team. You will get access to world class mentors and instructors, extensive training and support and networking opportunities with industry leaders. You will get the chance to build something that matters while working on real-world use cases.
