Bundesbank at Unlock The Block

By January 12, 2018 No Comments

We are just days away from the Unlock The Block Blockchain Hackathon, starting on the 22nd January 2018. This hackathon is a platform to foster innovation where teams build something of value, while working on real-world use cases.

This event creates an opportunity for participants to have access to world-class mentors, resources, extensive training and support. Here, participants will meet and connect with industry leaders and key community members.

During the hackathon, there will be a number of presentations where participants will get to take a deep dive into existing projects that are making use of blockchain technology. One such presentation, that we are thrilled to announce, will be delivered by Dr Andreas Dombret from The Deutsche Bundesbank.

What is the Bundesbank?

The Deutsche Bundesbank, located in Frankfurt, is the central bank of Germany. The Bundesbank is responsible for supervision over the nation’s banking system and monetary measures, along with a variety of other additional responsibilities.

The Deutsche Bundesbank operates large financial market infrastructures and also develops these further in line with technological advances. The Bundesbank is exploring the potential of blockchain by examining how existing banking processes may be improved using blockchain technology.
